Here’s What You Can Expect to See at The 2016 NAB Show.

The NAB Show, held April 16-21, 2016 in Las Vegas, is the world’s largest electronic media show covering filmed entertainment and the development, management, and delivery of content across all mediums. With 103,000 Attendees from 166 Countries, and 1,700+ exhibitors, The NAB Show is the ultimate marketplace for digital media and entertainment.

Below is a list of a few showcases, highlights, and host sessions that will provide attendees with the latest techniques for creating content that positions it for creative and commercial success.

“Being There-Virtual Reality News and Documentaries”

Hosted By Niko Chauls-Director of Applied Technology at USA Today Network, Aaron Luber-Head of Partnerships at Google VR; Academy Award Nominee Danfung Dennis, CEO and founder of Condition One, and Academy Nominee Bryn Mooser, Cofounder of Ryot.

The session will discuss when VR is the right medium for News and Documentary Stories. The Speakers’ will touch on how to tackle the challenges of capturing real world footage and delivering it quickly and the evolving role of the reporter in VR and the role of VR in newsrooms of the future. Google will provide Google Cardboard Headsets to the audience so attendees can experience the Speakers’ work firsthand.

“Kaleidoscope VR Showcase at NAB Show”

A 3-day showcase that will feature groundbreaking VR experiences from over 30 international VR producers. This showcase will also feature the viewing on Samsung, Vive, and Oculus head mounted devices.

“Futures Park Exhibition Area”

A special section of the NAB show exhibit hall, reserved for presentations of media-related research and development projects from around the world. Exhibits in the Futures park will represent current edge-of-the-art media technologies from Government, Academic, and Commercial Research and Development Facilities. 15 companies will present and demonstrate a variety of prototype equipment implementing various portions of the ATSC 3.0 Standard.

“NAB Show Luncheon”

“Disney Media Network to Keynote 2016 NAB Show”

Presented by Ben Sherwood, Co-Chairman of Disney Media Networks and President of Disney | ABC Television Group, will provide opening remarks at the 2016 NAB Show. Sherwood oversees ABC Studios, The ABC Owned Television Stations Group, and The ABC Television Network. He also oversees Disney Channels Worldwide, a portfolio of more than 100 kid-driven, family-inclusive entertainment channels or channel feeds available in 163 counties.
